JAIPUR: Shane Warne was a relived man on Sunday. The Rajasthan Royals skipper led the way with three crucial wickets as they thrashed Kochi Tuskers Kerala by eight wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
After dismissing Tuskers for just 109, the hosts chased down the target inside 15 overs, with Shane Watson and Rahul Dravid laying the foundation with a 71-run opening stand. The victory not only brought Tuskers crashing to the ground after three successive wins but also halted Royals’ miserable run, which saw them lose three out of their last four games.

"I am happy with the way we fought back. We play well in our home conditions and we showed that today," Warne said. "All credit goes to the boys. We showed a lot of character. The losses really hurt us but we didn’t get disheartened. The way we responded was pretty emphatic."
Warne admitted that they over experimented and tried to be ‘too clever’ in last few games. "The last week was tough. We played some disappointing cricket and made basic errors. We just got carried away and tried to be too clever in our planning," the 41-year-old said.
"We had an honest chat after the loss to Kings XI and reminded each other of their roles in the side. If we play with the same intensity we showed today, we will get far into the tournament. We still have seven more games to go."
